The Silver Hand Chapter of Alterac is the resident chapter for the mountains of Alterac, and the surrounding area. It progresses the teachings of the Light throughout the region, for both Paladins and Priests. It’s current Chapter Master is Sir Kavid McTash, representing the Paladins, while Lady Jezebel DeBray represents the Priesthood, as a second to the Chapter Master. the chapter focuses on raising the next generation of light worshipers, turning aspirants and squires into proper knights, to protect Alterac from the darkness that surrounded and thrives within it. Through the teachings of the three virtues, and the five tenets, the chapter is sworn to the defense of the defunct kingdom.
The originations of the Chapter began within the now defunct City State of Alterac, serving as the nation’s Silver Hand Chapter, named then, The Citrine Eagle. It was led by the then Chapter Master, Dame Zaria Blackmoore. In time, there would be disillusion between the Chapter and the City State, leading to the separation, and formation of the Alterac Silver Hand, independent entirely from any oath but it’s own. Eventually the scope of the project would expand, and the organization would be incorporated into the large Citrine Eagle, with the Silver Hand Chapter at it’s core.
Now based out of the City of Talongrab, there would be a great deal of changes, and adjustments made in the months and years to come. Though at it’s core the Chapter’s goal would remain the same to protect Alterac and her people. There were several attempts to revive the Alterac Diocese for those priests serving within the Eagles, but eventually the decision would be made to incorporate them within the Silver Hand fully as Clerics of the Order. Eventually Dame Zaria Blackmoore would step down from the position of Chapter Master, handing the reins to Sir Kavid McTash, who currently resides over the Silver Hand of Alterac. He continues to work of the Silver Hand Compendium, a project of massive proportions, meant to standardize the teachings of the Silver Hand. With his second, Lady Jezebel Debray organizing the priests, it is the hope that the Silver Hand of Alterac will not just survive, but thrive, and expand.
The beginning path of any Aspirant begins here. All Aspirants are referred to in general as “Novices”. A basic understanding of what one is involving themselves with is key in understanding the basic premises of the Silver Hand and Church. An Aspirant should reference the Aspirant’s Handbook in order to find a better understanding of what they must do to be eligible to become a Squire. The Aspirant should seek out the current Master at Arms or Ordained Priest to progress further.
As a Squire, or Acolyte, one has proven themselves throughout their Novice training to be taken on by a Knight or Ordained Priest of the Order. The Path towards Knighthood is tailored to be a long bonding experience for the Squire, and their Mentor. Similar to the long bonding experience of a Squire and their Mentor, an Acolyte and Ordained Priest will interact with one another and the Acolyte will be given several trials. Both will be responsible for partaking in and overseeing these tasks accordingly.
